Katie is a 200HR registered yoga teacher and native Kansas-citian who specializes in a style of yoga called Yin. Katie was first introduced to Yin yoga in 2017 where she did her initial yoga teacher training under Yin Yoga specialist Kimberly Puryear at the Asheville Yoga Center in Asheville, NC. She has since studied Yin yoga with Lisa Ash of Westport yoga and received an additional 50 hours of training in 2019.
Having struggled with anxiety, depression, and body dysmorphia for many years Katie found deep healing in the stillness and opportunity for reflection that the practice of yin yoga provides. Yin yoga is like deep-stretch meets meditation. It is a beautiful way to deepen your understanding of the language of your body and to quiet a restless mind. Katie is passionate about helping people heal their relationship with themselves through the practice of slowing down that is Yin.
She has been accepted to the first ever 200HR Yin Yoga Teacher training this fall at the Inea Yoga Center in Corfu, Greece and is eager to continue her education and share what she learns with the community here in KC!
